Checkpoints in the Field, Safety and Transparency

QR and NFC-based patrols: documented arrivals, checklists, and traceable records on-site.

The digital checkpoint is not extra administration but evidence. It shows that the patrol happened, when it occurred, and what was found. It's not just a signature at the bottom of a logbook. Point, time, person, photo.

In security services, cleaning, or maintenance, this is the difference between "I think it was done" and traceable performance. The client doesn't ask you to believe; they ask you to show.

What is a Checkpoint

A fixed location on the premises: entrance, warehouse, boiler room, parking lot, office. It has a QR or NFC tag. The employee arrives, scans or taps their phone, and from then on, the round is documented.

It's not GPS-based. Indoors, signals can be misleading, but the point is not. The employee was where the point is. They didn't tick off the back yard from the gate.

What the Round Records

Arrival. A list for each point. Photos, if needed. Notes if there are issues. The manager later sees exactly what was recorded on-site.

  • Where the patrol took place
  • When it happened
  • Who performed it
  • Which points were completed, which were missed
  • What issues were found, in what condition

If a point is missed, it's not discovered at the end of the day. It's visible during the round.

Where It Pays Off

Security rounds: the patrol goes through, the order of points matters, a missed wing is a dispute. Cleaning: which room is done, in what condition, with photos. Maintenance: machine, fridge, boiler – checklist before starting, trace afterwards.

In business inspections, it's the same. The question isn't "was someone there" but what they checked.

The Weakness of Paper Rounds

The logbook stays in the car. The signature is illegible. The order can be guessed. In case of a dispute, no one knows if they were in the warehouse at 02:14 or just at the gate.

The digital point eliminates this. It's not suspicion. It's evidence. The employee doesn't have to defend themselves from memory: the round is there, the photo is there, the missed point is there.

Fewer Clicks, Not More

If the list is too long, it gets skipped in the field. Keep only as many points as needed for safety and quality. Arrival, list, photo, done. The rest of the admin stays in the office.

The patrol is effective when it happens on-site and can be retrieved afterwards. QR or NFC is just the gateway. The control is that the round leaves a trace.
