When someone asks where my love for development began, I have to go back to my childhood. Even then, I was programming in Pascal and Assembly, while also being very interested in electronics: I built amplifiers, including the particularly dear Quad 405, and repaired speakers. I loved understanding what makes something work, where it breaks down, and how to bring it back to life.

Later, I repaired laptops, including Toshiba machines, down to component and chip level. It was meticulous, patience-demanding work, but I loved the moment when a seemingly dead machine came back to life.

This curiosity and the joy of creation have accompanied me ever since.

When Software Meets Hardware

Since 2003, I've been involved in software development, and for over fifteen years, I've also been developing for mobile platforms. The tasks closest to me are those where software connects with physical operation: an application receives data from a sensor or controls a device.

If a unique hardware solution is needed, I build it. This way, I see the entire chain from the device through communication and the backend system to the mobile application.

It Started with an Everyday Problem

In 2019, a friend approached me with a very everyday issue: paper-based attendance sheets. Pre-filled sheets, subsequent corrections, and numerous phone calls consumed a lot of time, and in the end, it was still uncertain who worked when and where.

Initially, we thought about cleaning companies and launched under the name The Work App. I attended every presentation and directly heard the questions and difficulties. It quickly became clear how many different operations lie behind a seemingly simple attendance record.

During the first major construction industry implementation, we had to manage the attendance of over 800 workers and more than 50 subcontractors in a single system. Meanwhile, the system was also launched at a 160-person cleaning company and nationwide, multi-site facility service providers. Each implementation brought new demands: thus, schedules, tasks, checklists, and work orders were added to the system.

Recognitions

In 2024, The Work App won the Business Awards UK Technology Awards in the "Best Mobile Technology" category. In the same year, it was a finalist in the "Best in Digital Communications" category at the Kingston Borough Business Awards in London.

I was very proud of them, and it felt good to see that foreign professional juries also saw value in what we are building.

Why Dolgozz App?

Over time, I felt it increasingly important that the system have a name on the Hungarian market that is easy to remember and naturally fits the language of those who use it daily. This is how Dolgozz App was born.

However, it's about much more than just a name. A key aspect of development is compliance with Hungarian and EU regulations, and understanding the operations of local businesses.

My development company is ISO 9001 certified, so the quality management approach is part of my daily work: documented processes, traceability, and continuous improvement. We brought this approach to Dolgozz App as well. The system is designed to help companies operate in an orderly, traceable manner.

We continuously learn from our users, because selecting a location or starting a shift may seem trivial, but for those who use it daily, it determines how much real help it provides.

As a Team, with the Same Drive

Today, we work on Dolgozz App as a team. I am driven by the same motivation as when I was a child beside the amplifiers: to understand a problem, build the solution, and see it work.
